On Day 1, after an early breakfast, you’ll pick up your 4×4 vehicle from Car Rental Road Trips. Your self-drive journey begins as you head north towards Murchison Falls National Park. With the convenience of your rented vehicle, enjoy the scenic drive as you make your way to the park. Stop for lunch in Masindi before visiting the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here, you’ll embark on a guided rhino tracking experience to see these magnificent creatures up close in the wild. Afterwards, continue your drive to the park, where you’ll check into your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

The second day begins with an early self-drive game drive, giving you the chance to spot a variety of animals in their natural habitats. Drive through the park’s diverse landscapes, from wetlands to woodlands, and encounter wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, lions, and buffalo. After your game drive, return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, park your vehicle and enjoy a 2-hour boat cruise on the Nile River. This will bring you up close to the Murchison Falls, where the mighty river plunges over a cliff into a pool below. Along the way, you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species. If you prefer, you can also take an optional hike to the top of the falls, where you’ll be treated to magnificent views of the surrounding landscapes. Afterwards, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

On the final day of your self-drive adventure, you’ll enjoy a morning game drive before beginning your journey back to Kampala. The drive will take you through the park once more, offering one last chance to spot wildlife. After the game drive, you’ll make your way back to Kampala, arriving in the late afternoon. Depending on your schedule, you can drop off the vehicle at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport for your return flight, concluding your 3-Day Murchison Falls Safari.
